Back in October, we released our first picture book, Syrilda Magee, You’re About to Turn Three, written and illustrated by Chery Small.
Today, we’re celebrating the birthday of the real-life Syrilda Magee, the namesake behind the book. The real Syrilda Magee was born on November 28, 1857, and married John F. Clemons in 1874. She lived in Decatur County, Indiana, until her death on April 23, 1946. She was the great-great-great-grandmother of Chery’s children.
